One sunny morning in France last year we were invited to visit a place we hadn't thought of going to. A couple in Austria encouraged us to consider a house exchange with them. Kurt and Gerda were interested in a visit to Vancouver Island and thought our place would make a good home base.
Austria in July? Hmmm.... history, wine, hiking, lakes, sachertorte, schnapps and sausage... not bad... very nice people that have a beautiful home in Pulkau, a village not far from Vienna. Ah! Vienna, yes we would love to visit Vienna. With all those things going for it we didn't take long to realize this was a great invitation that we couldn't pass up.
Leaving on June 24th we will be in Prague for a few days then overnight with Kurt and Gerda at their home before they leave for Nanaimo. Pam and I will stay there for three weeks or so and be home for July 24th. We will post pics and tell you a bit about the place and who knows, maybe Austria could be on your list.
